During this week’s debate over health care access for low-income adults, the House voted 187-5 to approve an amendment to use state tax dollars to subsidize medical school tuition for aspiring primary care doctors.
Under the amendment, the state would forgive medical school loans for doctors in family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology who agree to practice in Pennsylvania for at least 10 years.
